JIL-Church Area 17 hits 17th Year

“ One Mission...One Vision for which we are called and chosen …for which a church is built …

a church has given birth to another until a JIL Church Area 17 is born .”

A prelude to the beating drums, striking lyres and pounding cheers that fired the
Jesus Is Lord ( JIL) - Area 17 17th year.

Go winners, go !

JIL Parañaque church presented its four chapters: San Martin, Sun Valley , Sucat and Quirino including the satellite church– Doña Soledad. Inclined with the theme “Win the Prize” (Philippians 3: 13-14), Pastor Joey Crisostomo, the Guest Speaker , emphasized that a Christian must win the heaven’s gold medal in a race. This race , as he explained, refers to the Christian life that involves the ups and downs in serving God but still pursues through God’s unfailing strength. He exhorted that Christians are runners in this race and in order to win is to run with passion , with focus and with determination. He encouraged each of God’s children to persevere. Never quit! “Ipinapangako nyo ba … that you would still continue the race?”, as the Speaker challenged the Pastors.

Ptr. Gilbert Macades said that this year's theme is continuance of the previous theme (Philippians 1:6) where Christians life is compared to a race. An Olympic set-up highlighted that as Christians we should not only finish the race but also win the prize– doing God’s purpose in our life with flying colors. To prophetically conclude the celebration Pastor Jeric Magallanes, JIL Parañaque ’s Pastor-in-Charge , together with the Pastors of the different chapters, lead the congregation in an oath taking declaring the God’s victory.

The 17th anniversary was aired last Sunday, Dec. 02 at 6:00 in the morning at GMA 7, and likewise at 12 midnight of the same date at QTV 11.

SINGLE KA PA BA?

Ang Christian Single’s for Christ (CSC) ng JIL Sun Valley, sa pamumuno ni Heny Consumo, ay patuloy na nag-aanyaya sa lahat ng singles na magamit ang buhay para sa Panginoon at makapaglingkod sa ikaluluwalhati ng Kanyang pangalan.

Nilalayon ng CSC Sunvalley na magkaroon ng mga activities tulad ng sportsfest, tracksgiving , house to house visitation at regular gathering.

Kaya halina at sumali sa CSC Sunvalley upang maranasan ang tunay na kagalakan ng pagiging single sa pamamagitan ng tapat na pagkakaloob ng sarili sa Panginoong Hesus.

Children Ministry

The children ministry of JIL Sun Valley with its coordinator, Sis. Minerva del Prado, believes that training the children at their young age has a great impact when they grow up. This is one of the principles she follows as she teaches the children in Sunday school. She envisions the children to be involved in the ministry in the future.

Be a part of the children ministry in honing the future leaders and ministers of the church!

JILSV CHURCH KICKS 12TH YEAR TODAY

Jesus Is Lord Church Sun Valley Chapter celebrates its 12th anniversay with the theme "Excell still More" (Phil.4:8) today, September 16, 2007.

The theme, as revealed to Ptr. Joemer Cahayon of JILSV Church, shows that there is nothing more gratifying than serving our God in a highest level as we continually grow in
knowledge of Him.

" Finally brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praise worthy, think about such things . " (Phil.4:8) is Paul's exhortation to Philippians. Paul emphasizes that we have to give God something He truly deserves-something with excellence.


Building the House of God

JILSV Church started when God called Ptr. Domingo Aguilar , presently JIL San Martin de Porres Church Pastor, to serve Him through cell grouping . These cell groups gave birth to a church -JIL Villa Paraiso Chapter. The first thanksgiving service was held in September 4, 1994. After a year, the church formally celebrated its first red letter day.

Facing the challenges

The church encountered a lot of challenges as it continually served God in the past fruitful years. One of these was persecution. Many people criticized the good news it intended to impart.
There were also insufficient number of workers who could respond to all evangelistic activities and other ministerial events. Moreover, unstable financial status had altered the church to perform its mandate more efficiently and effectively.

Moving out for excellent service

Aspiring for a greater service to God, Villa Paraiso Church moved out to reach more people. When the church held its fourth year in Nassons building which was along the access road, the service continued on Sundays until it decided to settle there the following year.

Excel still more

Today, JILSV Church has approximately 200 attendees each Sunday and an increasing number of cell groups. It continually undergoes trainings and seminars to grow more in Christian life and to fulfill the purpose in which God has built it. Ptr. Noemi Aguilar reiterated that this church has witnessed God's greatness and faithfulness and “ to excel still more " is how we want to respond to it.

Interview

YFA: Do you have a theme or verse as a guide for the music ministry?
Grettel: We follow a principle which is Worship the Lord as if is the last.
YFA: What is your favorite bible verse?
Grettel: 2Sam. 24:24; I will not offer to the Lord that cost me nothing.
YFA: Favorite Bible character?
Grettel: David, because he is a man after God’s heart. I want also to be a daughter after God’s heart.
YFA: As one of the original members of the music ministry, what can you say about the ministry now.
Alex: more improved, quality in voice blending and mas spiritual rooted na ngayon.
YFA: What difficulties you encountered sa ministry?
Alex: Sarili, yong Jona’s syndrome, takot or ayaw tumayo, minsan family at trabaho.
YFA: What is your aspiration for the team?
Madelyn: Unity among members. Sana hindi lamang every Sunday but also in cellgroup nagsama-sama ang music ministry.
YFA: What do you think are the needs of the ministry that should be attended to?
RJV: More passion in worship. Hindi lang sa instruments but more spiritually talaga.
YFA: Sino naman favorite Bible character mo and why?
RJV: Si Job kasi inspite of trials, he still obey and trust God.
YFA: What are your plans for the ministry?
Marvin: Priority maayos ang mga equipments and recruitment of new members.
YFA: What can you say about the ministry as a whole?
Marvin: Ok naman, we have good coordination, we export musicians to other chapter sobra
YFA: Marami na pala kayo, why do you still need to recruit.
Marvin: Para magamit ang talent ng iba, at hindi naman lagi kami nasa music, someday iba naman. Music is a continous learning process. So dapat may improvement.
YFA: As a coordinator, do you have future plans or activities?
Lanie: We have a plan to hold a concert soon after anniversary or early next year. The benefits will go to uniform, dancing, training and other extra expenses, para pamilya ang nasa music para din to help sa financial needs ng members.
YFA: Other activities?
Lanie: More bonding, practice na sama-sama.

YFA: What can you say about music ministry?
Ptr. Domingo A.: A big improvement. Malaki ang improvement at nakakablessed sila. I pray na patuloy silang ganun kasi sila ang nangunguna sa Gawain.
Ptr. Joemer C.: Our music ministry has high “Potential” of serving God in a higher level, first class worship team.
Veron: As a team, there is unity. Siguro strive more na lang sa spiritual aspect.
Gina R.: Ok naman, anointed ang worship team, kaya lang minsan hindi sila nakakaflow sa leading ng Holy Spirit and Pastor.
Jean R.: Sana hindi sila nalilate.
