Release on INCENSE Vol. I, Issue 2, September 2007
By Veronica Young
As a spiritual preparation for the 12th year Thanksgiving day , Jesus is Lord Church Sun Valley conducted a 40 days Prayer and Fasting. The event started last June 27 and ended August 5, 2007. Bro. Joshua Lipiten, the chairman of Prayer & Fasting Ministry for Area 17, was the exhorter during the launch while Ptr Joemer Cahayon was the speaker in the culmination activity. It was participated by workers and congregation.
The 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting was held to lift up to God the different prayer items and to prepare the workers and congregation for the celebration. The leadership believes that without the Divine guidance and provision of the Lord, the event will not be successful as what God said in the book of Isaiah that a true fasting will lead to humility before God and ministry to others.
Prayer and Fasting has become the backbone of every activity in JILSV. As we humbly bow down before the Lord God, and obey what He commands us, we know that He will give us the victory as we desire for His glory.
Therefore, as Christians, our prayer and fasting does not end as the celebration ends but will continue as we do the will of the Father whom we obey & love most.
