Greater Heights

Thursday, April 02, 2009

By Ptr. Noemi Aguilar

As we are about to face a new season, may we continually inspire, encourage and move by God’s wonderful promises that … “He is a God who does not change (Malachi 3:6a), He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrew 13:5)

So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God (Isaiah 41:10a)That we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us (Phil.4:13)He is the Lord who bestows favor and honor; no good things does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless (Psalm 84:11) That every word He has spoken will not return to Him null and void, but it will fulfill its purpose (Isaiah 55:11)

True enough for all of us to live a life holy and pleasing to His sight (Roman 12:1)

Aim Greater Heights

By Ptr. Joemer Cahayon

God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. As I always say, it is not the giftedness of a leader that prompts God’s blessing, but the willingness to move when and where God indicates. As we live in this most prophesied generation, let us allow God to use our lives for His utmost glory. The coming year is a transition from mission impossible to mission accomplished. It is not how difficult a task is but how much faith we have. God puts no limitation in faith, but faith limits the move of God in our lives. I encourage everyone to be a person who will do great exploits for God. Let us aim “greater heights”.

Prize of the High Calling

By Ptr. Jeric Magallanes

Living a victorious spiritual life requires a consistency of purpose. The Apostle Paul’s desire to experience the fullness of Christ's resurrection power became the controlling factor in his life. His words "I press toward the mark" (Philippians 3:14) describe a runner racing hard with his head forward, body bent, and eyes on nothing but the final tape. Such was Paul's fervent attitude in reaching out toward the spiritual goals of service and blessing. If we would show the same oneness of purpose, we would likewise be filled with joy, experience victory over sin and trials, and possess a deeper sense of God's presence.

Let us press toward "the prize of the high calling of God"!

Excel Still More

“Excel Still More” is JIL Sun Valley’s theme in its 12th year Thanksgiving. It is what we want to respond to God’s faithfulness and greatness to this Church. Excellence is all about – going far beyond the call of duty, doing more than others expect. It comes from maintaining the highest standard… making special effort to do more for God(& His church). Individually, as a church we desire to continually serve God. “Not just for the sake of continuity” but to continue progressively, fruitfully and effectively that is to “excel still more” for His glory alone

As we celebrate the 12th year of God's faithfulness, let us treasure the things He had given us. It is also important to share to the others about the goodness of the Lord. As we enter into a new season of breakthroughs, let us excel still more in our service to our God... all for His glory. We cannot serve God in an excellent manner without totally surrendering our life to Him.

The Happiest Life

Everyone wants to be happy. That is why people spend a lot of money on recreation, vacations, health awareness, self-help books, and assortment of nonessential gadgets. These things, they hope, will bring joy into their lives but they are not the answer. The 17th-century preacher Matthew Henry was right when he said, “A life spent in the service of God and in communion with Him is the happiest life that anyone can live in this world”.
If you are looking for happiness, improve your fellowship with God and serve Him. An old song by Horatius Bonar calls it “friendship with Jesus, fellowship divine,” You will call it “the happiest life.”
