Everyone wants to be happy. That is why people spend a lot of money on recreation, vacations, health awareness, self-help books, and assortment of nonessential gadgets. These things, they hope, will bring joy into their lives but they are not the answer. The 17th-century preacher Matthew Henry was right when he said, “A life spent in the service of God and in communion with Him is the happiest life that anyone can live in this world”.
If you are looking for happiness, improve your fellowship with God and serve Him. An old song by Horatius Bonar calls it “friendship with Jesus, fellowship divine,” You will call it “the happiest life.”
